Osteoporosis is the most frequent bone disease and especially affected women, particularly after the menopause. It consists of a loss of bone density and a decrease in the structural quality of the bone. The bones become more fragile with the subsequent increased risk of breaks. Osteoporosis does not normally have any symptoms and often goes undetected.
Physical exercise and, more specifically, muscle training are an effective measure, according to many studies, to fight the loss of bone mass. This is because the living tissue of the bone is developed and strengthened when the muscles withstand a sufficient load or stress through muscle strength training.
The Wunder Training Osteoporosis treatment helps prevent and treat osteoporosis, increasing bone density and reducing the risk of falls and breaks. Strengthening the lumbar spinal column, the hips and the wrists is particularly important, as these are most affected and at most risk of breaking.
Medical Osteoporosis Therapy is based on use of the MedX Medical Lumbar Extension* machine to specifically strengthen the deep muscles of the spinal column and fight the loss of bone mass that often affects this part of the body particularly. It is provided over 12-18 sessions under medical control and the supervision of a physiotherapist during all the exercises. An initial Medical Examination is performed, along with a medical consultation for control half-way through and another at the end of the treatment.
The sessions last 30 minutes, during which the muscles are strengthened using the MedX Medical Lumbar Extension* machine and an additional programme of exercises (hips, legs, wrists, etc.) is followed, depending on individual needs.
